MAT Central Team
I am passionate to support people in any way that I can to enable the best possible education for our communities. My priority is to ensure the business functions of WPAT work seamlessly to enable staff to be happy, children to be safe and learning to flourish. I have worked in education for over 30 years, in schools, local authorities and am very proud to be part of WPAT since 2016. I am a qualified CIPFA accountant with a Masters in Management and my areas of specific interest are school finance, HR, buildings, governance, marketing, H&S and climate change. I am currently Finance and Operations Director and the named Data Protection Officer. I enjoy keeping fit at the gym and practicing yoga in my free time.
I am the Finance Manager for the Trust with responsibility for budget setting, monitoring and forecasting for all schools throughout the organisation and report monthly to the Trust Board. I also manage and report on matters including internal and external audits and periodic financial returns to the DfE. I provide staff training on financial systems throughout our family of schools and support individuals as required. I work on financial due diligence for the onboarding of new schools to the Trust and liaise with the Local Authorities as and when required.
My work and financial background was during a 25-year career with Lloyds Bank working in the Commercial and Small Business sector where I gained a wealth of experience relating to the day to day running of the financial side of a business.
Outside of WPAT I enjoy running and indeed most sports, plus learning about world history via podcasts.
My role as Data Manager covers anything that is data or information related within the multi-academy trust. I am responsible for developing reports and systems to ensure that the data we collect and store is used in the most effective and useful way for all staff. Another large part of my role is GDPR and ensuring that everyone knows what to do and not to do when it comes to keeping personal information safe.
I have a BSc degree in Business Computing with Multimedia. I've worked in education for 18 years in various Local Authorities. Outside of work, I love baking and spending time with my family
I am the Business Manager for the Trust and Personal Assistant to the CEO. I work closely supporting all schools within our Trust and senior leadership teams. This is the first post I have held within the Education sector, so everyday remains a school day for me learning as I go. I've gained a wealth of skills and experience working for large organisations within the private and legal sector, which I apply daily to all elements of my role.
I have worked at WPAT since 2018, when I started as an apprentice at the age of 19. Since then, my role has progressed and I have held different positions between WPAT and Generate Teaching Hub. I am now Digital Media and Communications Coordinator for the trust, which involves developing strategies to increase awareness of WPAT, whilst staying up to date with the latest marketing technologies and implementing them trust-wide. I hold various qualifications in business and administration, and my most recent achievement is obtaining a Level 3 accreditation in Digital Marketing. Outside of work, I am a keen gym goer and love to socialise.
My priorities include overseeing all aspects of governance effectiveness and compliance within the trust, ensuring governance adheres to good practice and meets all statutory and regulatory requirements, with an additional focus on policies across the trust. Whilst my background has been mostly in the private sector with my specific areas of interest being accounts, HR and health and safety amongst a few other areas, I have learned a lot in the education sector since joining the trust and I am continuing to progress throughout lots of different areas. I am qualified in Business Administration and have my AAT in accounting and bookkeeping. I enjoy being active in my free time and this includes playing in a competitive netball league.
I have 26 years’ public sector experience in local government finance with particular expertise in Treasury Management. I am a qualified coach and trainer of NLP and I have held senior management roles within the private sector, in both the construction and sales and manufacturing industries, where I gained extensive experience in Project Management, Compliance and Customer Relations. My primary role in WPAT is to provide support to both Finance and Estate Management across the Trust. I am involved in the day to day management of the Trust finances and the implementation of any projects across the Estate. My interests include fell walking and travel.
