Angela Skelton - Music with China Eastern Normal University
Angela Skelton from Bruche Primary School, was asked to run a seminar about music education for China Eastern Normal University in Shanghai.
They were interested in music education in UK schools and the perspectives from UK music teachers, and Angela was chosen.
Angela's son, who is an ex-pupil of Bruche, also translated the seminar.
As a result of them visiting Bruche's website, the content we have shared and the contacts we have in China (international connecting classrooms), the university want to know how music is delivered at Bruche/WPAT, including content and teaching methods.
The seminar was done over Microsoft Teams, which was a challenge in itself!
Executive headteacher Chris Jones said "This was a fantastic opportunity for Bruche to support a school in China on how we deliver our music curriculum. It was done over Microsoft Teams, which was a challenge for Angela and the students of China Eastern Normal University, but the session went very well - a massive well done to everyone involved."
One student from the university commented "Thank you so much for your time! It was a very brilliant seminar and Pro.Cheng is sending big respect to you!"
